Green Public Procurement Strategy & Action Plan
In the context of the EU initiative for a Public Procurement for a better environment, we have worked towards this goal and created the first Green Public Procurement (GPP) strategy of the Institute, which could also form the ‘’Buying Green’’ action plan for the following years.
This strategy was created based on the European Commission guidelines on GPP, adjusted to fit the Institute’s Research, Educational and Operational needs. Our overall objective is to provide guidance on how to use GPP criteria during procurement procedures, to reduce the environmental impact caused by the Institute’s consumption and how to use GPP to influence the market and stimulate innovation in environmental technologies, products and services.
The Institute’s Strategy sets challenging yet realistic goals through the Organization’s procurement activities to minimize negative environmental and social effects through the use of environmentally friendly practices and products.
