Visit by the Ambassador of Palestine, H.E. Mr. Abdallah Attari
On Tuesday, 14th of May 2024, the Ambassador of Palestine, H.E. Mr. Abdallah Attari visited CyI’s premises in Nicosia, to learn about the Institute, as well as to explore possible areas of collaboration in educational and research matters.
Hosting the meeting was CyI President, Prof. Stavros Malas, in the presence of Mrs. Eleni Sophocleous, CyI Assistant Vice President of Policies and Institute Affairs, CyI Assistant Vice President of Innovation and Development, Dr Konstantinos Kleovoulou, STARC Director, Prof. Michel Menu, EEWRC & STeDI Interim Director, Prof. Theodoros Zachariadis and Head of Graduate School, Dr Chrysanthia Leontiou.
Prof. Stavros Malas further announced The Cyprus Institute’s intention to establish a scholarship program, specifically designed for Palestinian students to attend postgraduate programs at The Cyprus Institute.
A presentation on The Cyprus Institute’s activities and achievements was followed by a discussion on possible areas of collaboration and finally a guided tour of selected CyI facilities, including the Linear Fresnel Facility, and the Andreas Pittas Art Characterisation Laboratories (APAC Labs).
