Yiannis Sampson

Yiannis Sampson

Yiannis is a graduate student from the University of Cyprus that holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master's degree in Conservation and Restoration of Historic Monuments and Sites. During his postgraduate studies at University of Cyprus, he became passionate about the field of Digital Cultural Heritage and his Master's thesis was mainly focused on the digital recording and documentation of Limassol's rich morphological ornamentation during the 1878 - 1930 period.
 
His passion for the particular theme contributed to pursuing a PhD in Science and Technology in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage at  Cyprus Institute Graduate School with a research topic that is mainly focused on using HBIM methods to analyse the phases of historical buildings and to gain significant knowledge for them in relation with historical, structural, environmental, spatial and material aspects.
