Patrikios Tymvios
Patrikios Tymvios is a civil engineer with extensive experience in Project Management and Public Procurement. He completed his studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering and Design, and holds an MSc in Engineering Management. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Cyprus Technical Chamber for Engineers.
For several years, he worked as a site engineer and later as a site manager on large-scale construction projects, primarily multi-purpose building complexes, while also serving as a Health and Safety Officer.
He joined the Cyprus Institute (CyI) in November 2008 as a Facilities and Physical Infrastructure Engineer, contributing significantly to the Institute’s major facilities development projects. Since 2012, he has served as Chair of the Procurement Committee, leading the Procurement Office. In February 2018, he was appointed Head of Procurement and Contracts, where he played a key role in developing the CyI Procurement Policy, internal procedures, evaluation reports, and standardized forms used by all CyI staff members. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the CyI Sectional Committee on Changes and Claims and is a member of the Committee for the Promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Driven by a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and transparency, he actively promotes these principles through presentations and seminars, while advocating for socially responsible practices in public procurement. He developed CyI’s award-winning Green Public Procurement (GPP) Strategy and Action Plan, which won the CY GPP AWARD in 2022, and under his leadership, CyI successfully completed the first two Socially Responsible public contracts in Cyprus.
Currently, he also serves as the Ambassador of Cyprus for Socially Responsible Public Procurement, engaging in a diverse network of experts, to promote sustainable, inclusive, and responsible public procurement practices.
