Fabio Maria Montagnino Participated as a Panelist on “SM@RT CITIES: Turning the “Smart City” Vision into Reality” Conference
On Wednesday, 29th of June 2022, CyI Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mr Fabio Maria Montagnino participated in the panel of experts debating the current actions taken by policy makers and municipalities on the creation of “Smart cities” at the Conference entitled “SM@RT CITIES: Turning the “Smart City” Vision into Reality”.
The Conference brought together officials of the Cyprus Government, local Government authorities, water supply boards and other Governmental bodies that coordinate at a strategic level on the implementation of IoT technologies, aiming to share views on this subject related to innovation and best practices. Within the framework of the Conference, lectures and presentations were delivered by distinguished speakers from Cyprus and Greece, through which it became clear that the smart city is not the city of tomorrow, but the city of today.
The event was attended by state and civic officials, ambassadors, and distinguished personalities from the business world, including the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, H.E. Mr. Kyriacos Kokkinos, the Ambassador of the United States of America in Cyprus, H.E. Mrs. Judith G. Garber, the Mayor of Nicosia, Mr. Konstantinos Giorkatzis, the Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Dr. Stelios Heimonas, the Architect-Town Planner and Member of the General Council of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK), Mr. Vyronas Ioannou, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, the Senior Public Sector Account Manager of Cisco, Mr. Nikolaos Lambrogeorgos, the Customer Success Director of Logicom Solutions, Mr. Fotis Ioannidis, the Senior Manager of Accenture, Mr. Thanasis Karousos, the “Smart City” Strategy and Implementation Manager of the Municipality of Nicosia, Ms. Nadia Lortzie, the Director of Cyber Security Department of Logicom Solutions, Mr. Charis A. Florides, and the CEO of Logicom Solutions, Mr. Chrysostomos Kridiotis.
The event was successfully organised by Logicom Solutions with the support of the Municipality of Nicosia, sponsored by Cisco and Accenture.
