Περίληψη
Tο Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας αποσκοπεί στη διεύρυνση της συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου και της Κυπριακής Εθνικής Επιτροπής UNESCO, σε τομείς κοινού ενδιαφέροντος και δημοσίου συμφέροντος, μεταξύ άλλων για την προώθηση και την υλοποίηση των αρχών, των προτεραιοτήτων και των συμβάσεων της UNESCO για την Εκπαίδευση, την Επιστήμη, το Περιβάλλον, την Κλιματική Αλλαγή και την Αειφόρο Ανάπτυξη, τον Πολιτισμό και την Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά. Αποσκοπεί, επίσης, στην ενίσχυση της συμμετοχής της Κύπρου σε προγράμματα της UNESCO για τον Πολιτισμό και την Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά (υλική και άυλη), στη διασύνδεση του περιβάλλοντος με τον πολιτισμό και ιδιαίτερα την καταπολέμηση της λεηλασίας και της παράνομης διακίνησης πολιτιστικών αγαθών.
Το Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας θα υπογραφεί στην παρουσία της Καθηγήτριας Βασιλικής Κασσιανίδου, Υφυπουργού Πολιτισμού, από τον Καθηγητή Σταύρο Μαλά, Πρόεδρο του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου, και την Δρα Μαρίνα Σολομίδου Ιερωνυμίδου, Πρόεδρο Κυπριακής Εθνικής Επιτροπής UNESCO.

MoU Signing Ceremony Between The Cyprus Institute and the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO
Description
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to enhance the cooperation between the Cyprus Institute and the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO, in areas of common interest and public benefit, including the promotion and implementation of UNESCO’s principles, priorities, and conventions in the fields of Education, Science, Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development, Culture, and Cultural Heritage. It also aims to strengthen Cyprus’s participation in UNESCO programs related to Culture and Cultural Heritage (both tangible and intangible), to foster the interconnection between environment and culture, and in particular to combat the looting and illicit trafficking of cultural property.
The MoU will be signed in the presence of Professor Vasiliki Kassianidou, Deputy Minister of Culture, by Professor Stavros Malas, President of the Cyprus Institute, and Dr Marina Solomidou-Ieronymidou, President of the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO.
