This presentation comprehensively introduces the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA.
Delving into the institute's core competencies, research areas, and notable achievements, the abstract provides a brief overview designed to acquaint the audience with the institute's significant contributions to computer science and ICT.
The presentation aims to showcase the institute as a valuable collaborator within the Erasmus Project framework by highlighting key strengths and ongoing projects.

About the Speaker

Hrachya AstsatryanDr. Astsatryan is an accomplished computer scientist with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP) and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Yerevan State University, Armenia. He is also a Habilitation recipient from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France, where he defended his research on "Service Tradeoff for HPC and Big Data Infrastructures" in 2020.

Dr. Astsatryan has held several fellowships, including a doctoral fellowship at the KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics, Budapest, Hungary (2005-2006) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse, Toulouse, France (2006-2007). His research interests span several areas, including high-performance and scientific computing, high-performance data analytics, data management and open data, and large-scale energy-aware distributed systems.
Dr. Astsatryan has published over 90 articles in various prestigious journals, conferences, and workshops, and several entities, including EC Framework Programmes, ISTC, INTAS, SNCF, and CRDF have sponsored his research. About the EuroCC-2 project

EuroCC 2 will work to identify and address the skills gaps in the European High Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem and coordinate cooperation across Europe to ensure a consistent skills base.

The role of EuroCC 2 is to establish and run a network of more than 30 NCCs across the EuroHPC Participating States. The NCCs act as single points of access in each country between stakeholders and national and EuroHPC systems. They operate on a regional and national level to liaise with local communities, in particular SMEs, map HPC competencies and facilitate access to European HPC resources for users from the private and public sector.

EuroCC 2 delivers training, interacts with industry, develops competence mapping and communication materials and activities, and supports the adoption of HPC services in other related fields, such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence (AI), high performance data analytics (HPDA) to expand the HPC user base.

This project has received funding from the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 101101903. The JU receives support from the European Union’s programme Digital Europe and Germany, Bulgaria, Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg , Slovakia, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro and Serbia.
