HYPER-ON - Searches of Physics Beyond the Standard Model via Hyperon Semileptonic Decays
The planned ERC project is based on the previous submitted ERC Starting Grant call of 2023, which ranked in the ranged 49%-58% and received a score of B. This proposal will be improved based on the feedback received by the panel, mainly positive, and it will be resubmitted in 2025. RIF offers funding to support for submission of ERC proposal via the call VISION-ERC. The funding will be used to increase the proposal success via selected research activities.
The goal of the ERC project is to provide the first complete picture of the structure of baryons in the octet, nucleons and hyperons, via the study of their Form Factors. Hyperons have the potential to provide new insights into two of the most challenging problems in particle physics: i) a coherent and quantitative description of strong interactions, and ii) the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe.
We will focus on key observables that can enable the discovery of new physics, such as the study of the Vus matrix element and non-standard scalar and tensor interactions.
