Valeria Filippou is a Research Engineer at the CaSToRC of The Cyprus Institute.
She graduated in 2016 as a Medical Engineer with an MEng degree at the University of Leeds. She continued her studies at the University of Leeds to receive an MSc in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine and a PhD in Medical Engineering associated with Machine Learning, Signal processing and Wearable Technologies.
She has applied her expertise across financial services, healthcare, and environmental monitoring, developing credit risk models, medical diagnostics algorithms, and AI-driven data privacy solutions. She has also consulted on large language models (LLMs), data extraction, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
