Doreen Elisabeth Nicole Schell

Doreen Elisabeth Nicole Schell

Doreen holds a Master’s degree in Physics, with a specialization in Environmental Physics, from Heidelberg University in Germany. In September 2025, she began a cotutelle PhD in Atmospheric Science, jointly hosted by the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE) in France and The Cyprus Institute Graduate School.

Her doctoral research focuses on the role of soils as a sink for atmospheric hydrogen, which is a process that plays an important role in the global hydrogen cycle. By a range of measurement techniques, including flux chambers and drone-based sampling, she aims to improve our understanding of hydrogen uptake by soils.
