Semontee Deb holds an MSc in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Calcutta (2024), where her academic focus was on ionospheric and atmospheric research. Her master’s thesis, conducted at the Indian Center for Space Physics, involved modeling the long-term effects of solar cycle 24 on D-region ionospheric parameters. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Honours from Bethune College, University of Calcutta.

Most recently, she served as a Project Associate at the Centre for Environmental Studies and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. In this role, she contributed to source apportionment studies, air quality modeling, and air sample analysis.

Her research interests include ionospheric physics, atmospheric chemistry, air pollution, and climate physics. She has contributed to the scientific community with a publication in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, titled “Modeling the Long-Term Variability of D-Region Ionospheric Electron Density During Solar Cycle 24.”
