Nicolas Georgiades, obtained a Master’s in Business Administration with High Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, both from the University of Nicosia and a Higher Diploma on Culinary Arts from the Higher Hotel Institute Cyprus.

Even though he had working experience in universities both as a lecturer and as an assistant lecturer, having worked in restaurants and hotels both as a chef and as a food and beverage supervisor and even after he was given the opportunity to work as an academic abroad in the field of Hospitality, the passion for flying took over and luckily guided him into changing his professional orientation to the UAV Industry.

Moreover, flying Radio Controlled Airplanes was what Nicolas enjoyed the most since he was seven years of age, which is why he has been doing it for the last twenty-nine years not just as hobby but as a sport as well representing Cyprus until today, in nine World and ten European Championships at the highest level.

Additionally, with the rise of drones the love for flying lead him into shifting his professional orientation from the Hospitality Industry and Academia to the UAV Industry in 2016, in which he is still engaged to date.

Finally, within the last six years in the UAV Industry, Nicolas had the opportunity to contribute in the design, development, integration and test flying of prototype Fixed Wing UAVs of the 25kg class. Furthermore, he has completed several missions with Multirotor and other Fixed Wing platforms for both research and commercial purposes. Tens of catapult launces, hundreds of rolling take offs and landings, a participation in the full-scale Search & Rescue Exercise “Argonaut 2017” and a participation in a Multi-UAV Platform Scenario over the Atlantic Ocean along-side the Portuguese Airforce for SUNNY Project’s final demonstration, are considered the highlights of the achievements in the field along with his clean incident record.
