Niki obtained her BSc in Environmental Science and Technology from the Cyprus University of Technology, followed by an MSc in Toxicology from the University of Birmingham. Recently, she completed her Ph.D. in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences at the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) of The Cyprus Institute.

Her research primarily focuses on regional air quality modeling and the health impacts from exposure to ambient particulate matter pollution, with a focus on the differential toxicity of these pollutants. Furthermore, her research revolves around the connection of climate change and air pollution and their collective effects on human health.
