Georgia Lazoglou is an Associate Research Scientist in the Environmental Predictions Department of CYI's Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C).
She holds a BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Meteorology, Climatology and Atmospheric Environment, and a Ph.D. in Climatology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. During her Ph.D., she studied extreme temperature and precipitation events in the Mediterranean region, using the Extreme Value Theory. She has also developed an innovative advanced statistical method, named the 'TIN-Copula', which can be used for the bias adjustment of atmospheric and climate data.
Her research interests include Extreme Climate Events, Climate Change and Impacts, Bias Correction, Statistical Downscaling, Mediterranean Climate, Climate Statistics, and Hydro-climatic Extremes.
