Marios Demetriades joined the Cyprus Institute in November 2013 as a Scientific Coordinator and he is currently the Manager of the Research and Innovation Management and Support office (RIMS) of the Cyprus Institute. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham, UK, with his thesis focusing on economics of science, innovation, policy and growth. He also holds a BSc in Economics from University of Piraeus, Greece and a Masters’ Degree in International Business Administration from Bournemouth University, UK.
He has worked at the Open University of Cyprus for 2 years as a University Officer in the Planning and Development Unit and at the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation for 6 years as a Scientific Officer. He is involved in Research and Innovation Policy and his research interests and expertise involve research and innovation funding, research productivity, economics of science, scientometrics, multilevel and panel data models for research and innovation policy, human capital in science and economic growth.
